Types of Ads That Exist on Blog or Website

What Types of Ads Are Often Found on Blogs?

What types of ads on your blog or website have you seen the most so far? There are many. But, most likely the answer is Google Adsense PPC ads.

But in fact there are many other types of ads besides PPC that are often installed in a blog or website.

As we know, some of the bloggers make blogging a hobby. However, there are also many bloggers who make blogging as a means of making money.

This blogging activity to earn money is called blog monetization which means a method of creating a blog or website in order to be able to make money.

One of the techniques or ways to monetize a blog is by placing ads on a blog or website. Well, in this article I will briefly discuss some ads that are often installed by bloggers or online businessmen in their blogs or websites.

What Types of Ads Are Often Found on Blogs?

The more blogs pop up, the more diverse the types of monetization. Here are some types of ads that exist on the blogs or websites of Indian bloggers.

PPC (Pay Per Click) Ads

The first and most common on a blog is PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. These ads are ads that will pay the website owner when a blog visitor clicks on the displayed ad.

The blogger who chooses PPC advertising, he must make it an existing ad clicked by others. So usually the blog owners will as much as possible to place the ad slot in the most strategic location from the point of view of visitors so that visitors would like to click on the ad.

Some examples of PPC advertising networks, include:

  • Google Adsense
  • Infolinks
  • Feedify
  • MGID

From the examples of PPC advertising, Google Adsense is the most widely used advertising network by website owners.

There are several requirements to become a Google Adsense publisher and display ads on our blog. The requirements are actually not heavy, but to earn a large income then the website owner must have a lot of traffic.

CPM (Cost Per Mille) Ads

The second type of advertising is known as CPM (Cost Per Mille) advertising or some call it Cost Per Impression. CPM ads are ads that pay when a blog or website gets 1000 views/pageview.

This type of advertising is very potentially used on high-traffic websites, or many visitors.

In order to make money from these ads, you must have a blog that has a lot of visitors. Actually blogs with little traffic are accepted, but usually the earnings are small.

Some advertising networks with CPM include:

  • Google Adsense
  • Feedify
  • MGID
  • Adfly

PPP (Pay Per Post) Ads

The third type of advertising is PPP (Pay Per Post) or also called Paid Review. PPP ads are ads in the form of posting a review article or review, whether it is a review of a website, goods, or services published on a blogger's website.

This advertising is a form of cooperation between the blog owner and the advertiser with a prior agreement.

So how do bloggers get clients?

Usually advertisers contact bloggers, or can go through marketplace sites such as; rajabacklink.com, sociabuzz.com, and others.

These ads are generally more valuable than other ads. But unfortunately these advertisers usually only search for blogs or websites with certain criteria.

In addition to getting links for SEO purposes, this type of advertising also aims to get traffic from the review article.

CPA (Cost Per Action) Ads

CPA (Cost Per Action) ads are a type of advertising that pays when a blog visitor makes a purchase action or simply submits their email address and others after clicking on the ads displayed on your blog or website.

But unfortunately this type of advertising generally has a low acquisition value. As far as I know, not too many bloggers are interested in this ad.

PPD (Pay Per Download) Ads

Although these ads are very minimal, but PPD (Pay Per Download) ads can also generate pockets of money for some bloggers.

PPD ads will pay the blogger when the download frequency has reached 1000 times. Because it is called ads per Download, then these ads will chase blogs or websites that are related to the download feature of mp3, video, software, games and others.

Examples of PPD advertising networks are Ziddu, 4shared, Tusfiles, and the like.

Affiliate Ads

One of the other high value types of advertising is affiliate advertising. This ad is almost the same as a CPA ad where we will receive money when a visitor makes a purchase transaction through our affiliate link.

The payment itself is usually by using a commission system from the proceeds of sales that are in accordance with the existing agreement.

Most advertisers love these ads because affiliate payments will only be given when their product is sold.

Some popular affiliate websites include:

  • Blibli
  • Flatten
  • Lazada
  • Amazon
  • ClickBank

Sponsored Ads

This type of sponsored ad is usually in the form of a banner on the website. Ads will appear in certain positions in the blog/website as agreed.

Ads like this are preferred by website owners because they are usually quite high in price. Advertisers are generally specific companies that target visitors to a particular community or niche website.

Unfortunately, getting sponsored ads is not easy or even almost impossible for most bloggers.

Why? Because usually advertisers only want to advertise on certain websites, have good quality content, and have high traffic.

What is the Best Type of Ads?

Keep in mind that whatever ads are displayed on a blog, content is a determining factor in the success of a blog.

In addition to quality content, website design is also influential, you know. Many blog/website owners use website creation services to make their website look more professional.

So, what is the best type of advertising for a blog?

Every blogger may have a different answer. But I've noticed so far bloggers tend to prefer PPC and CPM types of ads.

Although there are many methods of monetizing blog content, I personally recommend using 2-3 types of ads only.

Why? Because too many ads will make visitors uncomfortable, slow loading, and other problems.

This is a brief explanation of the types of ads on blogs that are often used by Indian bloggers for monetization. So, what kind of ads are you using right now?
